Olive Helps v0.23.2 & LDK v3.3.0
9/16/2021
Release Summary
Introducing Pi:
Perpetual Impact (Pi) is the currency of Olive. It's how we create a lasting relationship of value with our customers. Olive Helps users and organizations can now purchase Pi with USD at an exchange rate of 3 Pi for 1 USD. Funds in your Pi balance do not expire and can be used at any time to interact with the Loop Library and subscribe to Paid Loops. Pi purchases are non-refundable, and only Pi earned from Loop revenue can be withdrawn.
Loop Authors
Transactions:
Now when you submit your Loop for approval, you’ll be able to determine whether the Loop will be free or paid. Free Loops will be available for users to install at no cost, while paid Loops will require a user to purchase a monthly subscription to the Loop. If you’ve designated a Loop as paid, you’ll need to choose from a per-user or per-organization subscription model.
When a user or organization subscribes to a paid Loop, the Loop Author will receive 85% of all Pi revenue earned. Olive will retain 15% to cover hosting fees, operational costs, and fuel platform reinvestment. Loop Authors will initially receive this subscription revenue in Pi, which can then be “cashed out” in the form of USD after the minimum payout balance of 100Pi has been reached. You can view your Pi Account Balance in the Loop Library.
Additional Features:
Added a Rich Text Editor component with a WYSIWYG toolbar that supports Bold, Italics, Numbered Lists, Bulleted Lists, Hyperlinks, Strikethrough, and Indenting options
Provided an interface for authors to generate and update Whispers with React
Loop Authors will now be taken to the Browse Loops page when opening up the Loop Library
Customers
Users will now see prices next to the “Add” button for Loops in the Library. For Loops that have a per-user pricing model, users will be able to purchase Pi that they can then spend on the Loop. For Loops that have a per-organization pricing model, Organization Admins can purchase Pi for their organization’s users to have access. Users can see their Loop subscriptions and Pi Account Summary in the Loop Library.
Existing and already-installed Loops remain free to users.
